I'm not saying you are wrong, what works for you works and keep with it, but I've always heard to let it sit overnight, preferrably circulating. This helps insure that the salt is completely mixed. Once again no prob. with your way just voicing my way!!

Let us know how everything turns out!!

she did say that it looks like snow sometimes when she looks in the tank
as well as the test being done right she called a friend of mine who has been in the hobbie 11 years and he did a few tests and it does come out over 3000
he has never seen this before and not sure either what the ramifications will be

Will definitely be interesting to see! Snow is definitely a bad thing in a sw tank lol!!! Look on the bright side, if it has been 24 hours and everything still looks good, you will probably be OK. Like I said above I don't think this is a 911 emergency, just a drive to the clinic one lol!!

to raise the mg. to 3000ppm you prolly have to add about a case of that stuff in the water, was it a new bottle or half of one? how many oz was it? I dosed one whole bottle of seachem's advance reef powder mg. to my 55g tank and it brought my mg. to 1680 no worry
to my inhabitants, then a made a wc of 7-1/2 gal and it drop 800ppm's, you shouldn't worry
the damage is been done, test the salinity in the freshly made water and keep it low.
other than that just pray a lot

Tangster ran his MG at 2500 for a few weeks with no problems. You might just let it ride if nothing looks stressed.

Mine is still over 2500 closer to 28 it takes two and a bit of a third syringe to change it with a salifert. Its new and I tested it against a red sea kit also.. only thing that harmed anything was the byropsis and not lighting them for a week or two. Ca and Carb are good to go :) fish and all the coals that where not poisoned by the algae are looking as well as ever . Oh and I jacked it from 1300 to this level in about 4 hrs or as fast as it would mix . These things are not as delicate and people think.. Oh and I used Epsom salts and the sulfates..

home now and everything looks to be ok!
my kenya tree for some odd reason has almost doubled in size and fishes are not showing any sign of stress
so if i let it be will it eventually dissapate out?
and how long till the snow stops after i add calcium?

You can ride it out, but it sgoing to take a long time. Look on the bright side, you would have a byporis(sp) problem anytime soon.;D Luna
