Here are what I have setup so far. I have mangrove in my fuge, I think I going remove it. It seem to be alot of work, have to clean leaf and root are floating around. I also have chaeto in the fuge.

2nd, I have a POD farm in a 10g plastic container. I have order live POD and have been in my 10g container for 3-4 weeks now.

It's going be good idea, if I just removed mangrove, and just dump the 10g plastic container with POD into the fuge?

3rd, how will my pod be surviving if it get suck up to the DT?

All tips and suggestion are welcome...

    Thanks, happy reefing...

    - dont have any mangroves myself. In my refugium i have a small plastic container with mangrove mud and chaeto. I dumped some live pods in it and they can breed in there. My dragonet is well fed so i assume enough pods are getting into the display and it has been that way for a while so i also assume they can breed in there. Mangroves are cool and all but i think chaeto gets the job done just the same and is less maintenance. The top of the chaeto container is about 3 inches below the water line. So the pods can leave it but dont get blown out or sucked up with the flow. Hope that helps you in some way

Put some rubble rock in the fuge for the pods. After that I would add the pods to the fuge. Yes they will get pulled into the display they will survive in the DT just like the fuge.

I would ditch the mangrove...they grow so slowly they really don't do much IMO. Live rock rubble works well for pods...they like the small spaces...some pods will go from your fuge to your DT...pod condos or farms are a good idea with a mandarin...having several of them you can rotate back and forth from fuge to DT will supply a constant food supply better than relying on pods to make it from the fuge to the DT on their own.

IMO as long as you keep the chaeto from blowing all over the place by keeping it in the seperatecontainer it will work fine. I did take the foam filter off of my pump though to keep any pods from being trapped in it. You want some flow through the chaeto but you want to keep it in one place as well which is why you have the top of the container a few inches below the water line in your fuge. My setup was thrown together in a bit of a rush but it has worked out fine for me so far i will try to post or send you a picture later if you would like. In summary it doesnt matter what the flow through it is as long as you somewhat protect the chaeto from it. The pods will get sucked out at a nice steady pace and will still be able to breed

Sorry it was someone else talking about having a Mandarin dragonet...I thought when I originally read this it was you.
