    Hello,

I have the Marineland Reef Capable LED Lighting System that I bought from Foster and Smith on May 15th.

The area where my power source plugs in is loose & will only come on if I wiggle it around some. Has anyone every had this happen? If so, how did you solve the problem?

Lucky, for me I called Foster & Smith...they said they will ship me out a new lighting system which is really...but not my fish are in the dark for a week.

What do I do? Pull back the window blinds some & use natural light?

    Thanks!

Natural light will cause an unwanted growth of algae. If you have an old lighting system would work or maybe a room light? If you have corals they might be okay till the new light comes in but they might suffer a bit with no NOMNOMs

Thanks. Sadly, I don't have an old lighting system. My tank is FOWLR...so not corals.

About a week ago I starting getting a lot of brown algae on my sand so I don't need anymore of that. That started before my light problem.

you should be fine for a week, I used a lamp once just to give enough light so they can eat. Fish only so no problem.

I bought a marineland reef capable light (blue and white) a couple of weeks ago at the local store. While I love the design, weight and look ( and am hoping the soft corals like it too) the light "balbs" are dying off. Within the first few days the blue lights stopped working, and would turn back on when I'd physically push on them, then some of the white ones stopped working. I've ordered a replacement and will return this one. I'm really hoping that the problem only applies to this unit but will come back and post if the new light is the same...
