Help me and my fish!!!

what size tank do you have now?, and what size QT tank can you set up?

 

right now i have a 30 gallon tank. i dont have a qt tank. i should have kept that 10 gallon tank i had before i got into the saltwater tanks.

 

you can get a 10g at walmart for like 11 bucks, put the hang on filter on without the carbon, just some filter sponge/floss. light is optional, only needed to observe if fish is better or worse. small heater. Use meds at directed and frequent water changes.

 

if you don't quarantine you could also get a cleaner shrimp and a UV light. My hippo got it shortly after introduction, the cleaner shrimp helped a lot but the Uv light made a bigger impact, run it 24/7 now.

Also feeding garilic guard soaked foods (or selcon) seems to help boost the fishes health.

He still gets a spot or two now and again 8 weeks later but doesn't bother him and all the other fish are fine. Hopefully it will be finished sooner than later..

Oh yeah, you can do a QT for about $60 at the outside. You don't want substrate, just a glass bottom and a few decorations for the fish to hide behind.

You may want to consider running it just during times of trouble. You are killing good guys along with the bad with 24/7 operation. JMO, but something to consider.
