Octopus is giving me a great deal on these skimmers after what happened to my skimmer. I can't say the prices but basically money doesn't matter.

    My options:
    super reef lx1000s
    lx2000s
    xp1000s

I need to make this decision very soon. This is for my 46 bowfront reef, all are HOB

Get one rated for a 90 to 100 gallon tank. Skimmers are rated for lightly stocked tanks. You generally want one rated for about twice your systems volume.

Buying the one with the highest rating will allow you to upgrade in the future with greater tank size options.

Yeah those listed are plenty for the 46 bow. I can tell you that you probably wont want the lx1000s. somone just posted a review on it for there 72 bow. The thing is HUGE and its alos red and didnt look good at all on his tank. the poster had to put black acrylic on it. Are these the only skimmers they are offering. Becuase I know of a few more decent HOB from Reef Octupus.

Yea these are what they listed, the other one was the BH 800SBS. I think their are all fairly new skimmed, I just need help deciding which one is the best one, also which one will fit on the tank

I don't know about any of those skimmers, but they are expensive (not discounted) - so you will have a very nice skimmer! I think those skimmers are new to market, so there aren't many reviews out yet....at least that's what I got from Google.

If I was buying a new hang on skimmer I would go with either the lx2000s or the warner marine H2 skimmer.

    Aquarium Specialty

I would love to try the hang-on cone, but I think it will look really odd on a tank.

Yea I'm thinking of trying the cone just for the heck of it but I don't know if it will fit my tank
