which non of that will happen because my parents refuse to help move the tank, even though it would only be an inch, they said it would crack under pressure ::) So looks like the cone is going to be a no go :( so now its between the LX1000 and the LX2000, think ill just go with the LX2000 since its rated for more gallons

Don't forget, even if you go with the higher rated skimmer they will both remove the same amount of crap. I think the lx1000 would be enough for your tank.

remind you tracy, generally speaking the bigger the skimmer the bigger the eyesore.. you really dont need anything on that tank rated for over 100 g.. But thats just my two cents. You can over skim too which can hurt some corals If i remember correctly.

that is very true i forgot to consider that

didnt know over skimming would hurt corals, right now with no skimmer their kind of looking like crap right now. I hope ill be able to get the skimmer soon.

So if you guys are thinking the 2k is too much, then ill just go with the 1k

Well, if you remove nutrients that some corals really like having a small supply of, like a bit of phosphate + nitrate that softies tend to do well with, then you might "hurt" to coral's growth.

Yes because Skimming can take up useful nutrients that some corals use.

Tracy I know the Skimmer you have becuase it is close to size to the bh1000. Be warned these news skimmers are much bigger than those. I would suggest contacting the manufacturer and asking them directly what you should get. They may have some of the older (nicer color skimmers) if not, the could probably could tell you which one of the new ones would work best without modifications.

my softies look like their the only ones that are doing really good right now, guess theyir loving the higher phosphate and nitrates right now, the SPS, clam and LPS look like crap, their not horrible, just not like how they normally are with a skimmer

Thanks everyone for helping me make my decision, and if you ever have to deal with Octopus, they have great custome service

yea i have been in contact with ocoto during all of this and this was a list that they gave me with special prices, so these maybe the only ones that they are able to do this for, so im not sure if there would be any others.

and i do love overkill, my current is rated for a 125 i think so not going to be too much of a difference, and i always thougt there was no such thing as overskimm, but maybe because of the corals, i guess so :)
