    Any other input guys?

It seems no matter what I try I can't find the sweet spot. My uptake just does not seem to be consistent from day to day or week to week.

i would like to know what your ph swings are. imo your ph must be droping alot at night, check it from lights on to lights out and see if it swings to much, then drip kalkwasser at night to keep the ph in line, imo this will help keep your alk stay more consistant. 2 part along with kalk at night works very well for me use just enough kalk to keep your ph stable and see if this helps.

Trust me when I say the easiest solution is a dosing pump. CA Reactors are great but like you have said they are very frustrating to dial in.
so currently your CA is stable and you are dosing a CA supplement so that is not a problem.
Your Mg is good and stable as well.
what I tend to do when attempting to dial in a dosing pump is
1: Always bring your levels up to where you want them in your water change water
2: spike your system to bring your display system to your desired levels (controlled and slow spike)
3: Do not try and bring levels up using dosing pumps, they are meant to maintain levels
4: if level rise allow them to return to normal by stopping dosage. When they are normal adjust your pumps and start dosing again
5: If levels fall spike and readjust your pump.

Dosing works it's just a matter of finding that sweat spot

    Good luck

    J

According to my Elos test, my pH is very stable. That said, I don't trust it and may get a probe. I may move that up in the schedule based on your post.

Thanks, I've been trying to dial back and forth and it doesn't seem to settle down. I'm going to try this. If nothing else, it reduces the fluctuations the corals go through and causes less stress.

Sounds like you guys have found the sweat spot. Again, a stable blend of salt, Mg and Ca is the easy way. You will paint yourself into a corner otherwise. Find a custom lab like Aqua Craft or equivalent and buy all three products from them then kick back and enjoy the hobby. :goldfish:
