Most LFS will sell you the moon if they could and tell you that you need it and that it will fit in your tank. There are very few honest LFS out there. When was the last time you tested your water? What were the results? There are some ppl that dont agree with me when I say that you just cant put any fish in any sized tank. Not all fish are created equal. If this was the case, why dont you put an alligator in a 30g tank? As for your skimmer, did you install it correctly? Which one do you have? Some PS need to be fine tuned. Remember one thing, we dont profit from you, nor is it in our best interest to give you false advice. Luna

I believe the protein skimmer is either built in, or specifically designed for this aquarium.
I fully agree with, im not one of those people. I've seen some fish a lfs that are crammed into small aquariums, they not only look unhappy, but they also look unhealthy. The hardest part is seeing a tiny tang, angel grouper etc. and envisioning it when it's all grown up. People tend to forget about that, or will just worry about it when the time comes. One person who works at a lfs told me that they are told never to lie to a customer, but that they can stretch the truth. When asked about a yellow tang for example, they may say it will be fine in a smaller aquarium, but won't say that it gets very big and will need more space eventually.

I had an octopus for a good five months and let me tell you it will kill anything that you put in a tank with it..... they are very cool but definitely need a species tank

Surprised you don’t have a shark in there yet.

In all seriousness these people on this forum are a great help. It may not be what you want to hear but it is the truth.

Bud i wasnt disagreeing with anybody. I appriciate your output.
Theres a 120 gallon tank in my local craigslist for $150 with some stuff. I've thaught about getting it and turing my red sea into a tank for something more exotic (alone) My problem is i dont have enough money to put enough rock in the 120..

Like I said earlier, it doesn't matter if the tang is small, the tank is not big enough for the fish to be happy. A small tangs bioload is less, but the fish's sake please find it a bigger home. Again, like I said, wild tangs swim miles and miles a day, and being put in such a confined space will really stress it out. Fish that are stressed will be more prone to disease, live shorter captive lives, not come out as much, and may exhibit less color than they should. I would strongly recommend finding it a bigger home. Also, if you don't move the eel out, you may start to see tank life disappear.

Like guitarman said, "we're not trying to judge or criticize but merely saying what out experience has shown to be true". To add to that, were just trying to do whats best for the fish. We all love this hobby, but in the end we have live animals in our care, and should always do whats best for them, even if it disappoints us. Good luck,
