I accidently caught this little guy while collected pods in floating masses of algae at the beach.

When I collected him he was about a cm long, now a month later he's about 2 inches long.

I have him living in my fuge until I can ID him as reef safe. He's putting a serious strain on my pod populations I can tell you that much.

Can somebody please help me ID this fish?

The mouth looks like some sort of parrot fish. They are common are the keys. They are not reef safe, nor are sea bass, lol. From the sounds of it, it will get pretty big and eat its tank mates.

From the body shape, and mouth shape, it is some kind of parrot fish, it is not a sea bass. If it was a clearer pic, I could tell you what kind of parrot fish.

    Parrot fish eat corals.

He's too damn shy. I've spent hours (literally) in front of the tank with the camera trying to get pics of him, but he's too shy and too quick. But I'll keep trying, what's the worst that could happen... a divorce?;D
