need a heater for 28 gallon jbj nanocube. was planning to buy a jager, but wondering if there is anything cheaper that will do the job nicely. IE won't get stuck and cook the fish like I read about another one and will keep the temp fairly stable.

No heater is fool proof. I've had several that have failed, but my tank was large enough to where it didn't matter and I was able to catch it. People seem to like titanium heaters, as they won't break, but I've never had any issue with a heater breaking. I've heard good things about Jager and would suggest that generally speaking, more expensive heaters are better, so consider that too.

I would go with 2 smaller heaters, that way If one gets stuck on it's not too much of a problem. I think mine are marine land no problems thus far, I would also go with one that is shatter proof, I've read a lot of horror stories about them breaking in peoples hands

yea, I mean there isn't a lot of room for 2 heaters in the back of a nanocube. was just going to do 1 100 watt heater.

im using hydor heater 100watt for my 29bc. They are really small, maybe5-6 inches at max. It fits in my first chamber perfectly with just the tip bearly hanging out.

    So far works great too.

100w is more than enough for a 28 cube to be kept about 10 degrees above ambient.

yup constant 80 degree, even at midnight. But I am in california where it does not even snow, or even get to close to freezing point. Around 60s here
