Is a 72 bowfront wide enough for a bristletooth tang? I hadn't thought they were. If they aren't you could maybe replace it with another dartfish such as a blue gudgeon or zebra perhaps.

It is 48" wide, is that enough? It basically is a 55g with a bulge in the front. Creates some very cool viewing angles tho.

Man, no love for the clowns either... they are kind of cliche and boring.

a 48" tank will do just fine for a bristletooth that stays under 10" Theres a a few out there.

As for the leopard wrasses. They are a bit touchy when it comes to shipping. I got my Ornate from the LFS and it does great, was shy at 1st and Hid but he is out all the time now and competing with some big fish.

How often do you actually see 3 peppermints in a 72g? I rarely would see 1 let alone any number that I'd keep in my 55. Not saying they aren't there but... sounds fishy :p

FTR, I've only experienced this with peppermints and cleaners.

I don't know what history is being asked for. My RG ate my shrimp. At first I just thought they were vanishing and the CuC was responsible.

Then I found the RG with antennae sticking out of its mouth. Then another and another. Never found any bodies. I have a thread somewhere on 3reef talking about it. It was over a year ago now.

Eventually the gramma died. Something was bullying it as it died with torn up fins and so forth (not really sure, suspect clowns). Anyway, once it died, suddenly I could keep shrimp for longer than a month.

Grammas are in same order as groupers. (I think that's a very large order if memory serves).

Leopard wrasses are listed as difficult not only due to being a fragile shipper, but also a picky eater. They prefer pods over prepared food. Therefore, you'll be most successful with one once your tank is mature. I would not try one until the tank is at least 6 months old.

I did a lot of research of grammas before I got one and didn't see anything about them eating shrimp (and what I saw was not convincing). They are gorgeous, active fish and I voted for it!

to be fair, I am in no way suggesting this is "typical" RG behavior. Lots of fish just depends on the fish ya know. Just FYI in case you get one and start noticing shrimp missing.

I wouldn't steer you away from an RG over this. Sorry if I gave that impression.

I've heard 48 is wide enough for a bristletooth, but no experience to speak on.

It is much taller then a 55g too.

I see them every time I feed, every night when the atinincs go out and usually a few times a day. This pistol is the shrimp I see once a week.
