Ok so I am wanting a new fish or 2 and would like your suggestions. I am currently setting up a 240 but right now my fish are small in a 75.

I currently have a 2.5" Niger Trigger, 3" Dragon Wrasse, 8" snowflake eel, softball sized LTA and 3 mollies (lol)

I want my tank to be aggressive but not dangerous to me. I also would like to have some corals. I will be fine without LPS or without SPS as long as I can have one or the other. I also know a clean up crew isnt really gonna be long lasting.

I was thinking of a Humu Humu trigger and possibly a puffer (stars and stripes, dogface or porcupine), maybe a pair of Gold Striped Maroon or True Percula Clowns, maybe a hawkfish (flame, arc eye or geometric), lionfish (even though I lost 3 separate in my 180 and nothing else ever died) and maybe some damsels?

What would you suggest? I want color as well as personality. I don't want anything like sharks or rays. Thanks

I know fish differ from species to species, tank to tank, etc. No 2 fish have the same personality. With that being said, the Humu, puffer, niger, eel are not reef compatable same with some lions, most of the time. I know humu will crush clams, snails, corals, anything it thinks is food. Not a good option. You say you want an aggressive tank, but aggressive and coral dont mix very well. If you really want coral, your going to have to start steering toward reef friendly fish. Chromis, anthias, most tangs would fit the bill. A cuc is very important in breaking down organics that your fish cant get to. If you put fish in there that will eat those, whats the point?

With a 240 Gallon system, you dont necessarily need large fish to make it a great tank. Lots of small fish, imo, make it more natural that lets say 4 gigantic fish... thats just me. With that size tank you could keep any tang, REEF safe wrasses, anything really.

Its ultimately your tank, but i suggest you lean toward more docile animals. If not you may run into some compatibility problems later down the road. Because a fish can snap with no signs and go after not just coral, but smaller vulnerable fish.

Until you get that new tank, i would leave that 75 alone... but thats just me, maybe a clown or pair would be cool but i think that eel would just dominate anything else thrown into it... but like i said you know your tank better than anyone and know its inhabitants so, ultimately its your call.

Lps would be most likely to get picked on. But get likee a flame hawk, they're beasts. Anddd a porcupine puffer, I've always wanted one.

If you are going aggressive look into some non reef safe wrasses such as "bird" wrasses

Either should be fine, as it's a large tank.

However, the route the OP is headed isn't going to allow for any corals. You've got fish that'll chew on SPS, and fish that'll flip over or nip on LPS. And I hope all your rockwork is all glued together or impossible to move with that dragon wrasse...

In a 75???!!! I think one would be more suited to the 240.
