    so I have to get to the bottom of this and hopefully fast.

    Went away for the weekend and came back late sunday night. Look at my tank this morning and one of my most established acro colonies is about 70% dead from the base up. all motipora digitatas have very poor polyp extension, one large monti cap has lost substantial color. My clam looks terrible... it is retracted far into its shell and is not extending his mantle, but is still responsive.
    Colors are all still about the same though on the rest of the acros. all fish accounted for.

    Over the weekend one of my koralias stopped working, however my vortech and return pump were still running. Any chance on this being an oxygen issue? i doubt that since only montiporas and this one acro were effected.

    You're running a sump and skimmer right? I doubt oxygen is the issue. :(

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    This is one of the rare times when I might consider stray voltage.
