Help me replace my skimmer

Hello all, I need some advice on replacing a ASM G3 skimmer with gate valve and mesh mod. Reason being no matter what I do it overflows once I empty the cup. If I shut it off for a day or two then restart it now problems until I need to empty it again. Soooo needless to say Im tired of messing with and need a new one. It will be going on a 150G with a ADHI 45 refugium/sump . Thanks for your time and reading my vent of sorts. ;D;D;D;D;D

 

PM Bullet 1 and the PM waste collector. No overflow problems ever again.

 

I had a bullet 1 and it was the biggest pain in the butt I ever experienced. I just replaced it with an I-Tech 100. Good skimmer, constant tinkering, the shutoff feature was nice. I wouldn't use one again, though.

 

That's weird Zach. I set mine up, adjusted it once, and let it go.
I empty the collector once a week or so and clean the neck and cup of the skimmer every 2 weeks. Simple as that.

 

I was kind of thinking about the Octopus 2000 SSS Any thoughts ?

SWC 250 or 300 , I use to have an Asm and it dont compare to SWC hands down

 

I got a Euro Reef BBE180 and love it. It pull the nastiest stuff I have ever smelt out. Top notch in my book.

 

Any of the Octo type 200, SWX 200, Warner Marine AS150/AS200. You can go big with a SWX 250s2 cone. I think an Octo 2000 would be at it's limit on a 150g. Vertex IN-180.

Really depends on your budget. I-tech cones have quie a following 200. ATB 840 is one of the best cones out there. Even Warner Marine K2 would still be good on your 150g.

 

I have the G2 on a 90g and have 0 issues with it, have you torn yours down and actually cleaned the body lately?
