I Just Recently Got A 125 Reef Ready Tank And I Am Wondering If Two Sepperate Filters A Sump W/bio Balls, And A Refugium One On Each Over Flow Would Work Or Should I Just Go With One Large Filter

I prefer the sump minus the bio-balls and a skimmer!!!!! Also the diverse population of beneficial bacteria, microinfauna, polychaete worms and micro crustaceans commonly associated with biological filtration will increase your overall filtration 10fold, IMO!

You have asked a complicated question which could get many diffrent answers. My opinion would be to just get a protein skimmer and refugium. Wet/dry (trickle filters) have been used for many years, and many still use them with good results but I think that protein skimmer and refugium should do just fine for you.

One question that can help as well is what do you want to keep, fowlr (fish only with live rock) or a reeftank?

I'm pro-bio balls :) If they're kept clean and you don't overfeed, they won't become the "nitrate factories" that many claim that they are.

i take half mine out every 3 months stick them in dishwasher and clean then, but im really leaning towards filter socks then refugium and a large protein skimmer

That would be a good setup. Either way, husbandry is key. Sounds like you are on it!
