I need help....my brand new Outer Orbit 250 Halide fixture has been broke since about 2 weeks after I got it. Fans went out and 1 bulb stopped working.

I have been trying to get the store that installed it to come out for the last 5 weeks (ARG) and they have not come out. (actually since July for other problems) They did finally give me a new bulb to try to replace it to see if that is why it is not working......

I went to replace the bulb and noticed the light that is not working is broke in the fixture...right where the bulb goes thin to get in the socket.

    1. How do I get it out now...was told to grab plyers and pull it out.
    2. Did this break probably since fans went out...If I replace it will it not break again

I am fed up to the gills right now! I cant get the store to come out and replace the fixture and I wish I NEVER BOUGHT THIS TANK!!!! (at least from them....) Has been an ongoing issue since July when it was originally installed. I have a list of problems and NOBODY is responding to them (sorry needed to rant!)

if the bulb is still in the socket and you have to screwit out use a pattato and stick the glass in it and turn

Pliers should do it, just be careful not to damage anything. If it broke when it was brand new I would lean towards believing someone left fingerprints all over it on install. Which, when you put the new one in, you should avoid ;) Handle it with exam gloves or even tissue paper. The oil from our skin can cause a MH bulb to burst when it gets hot

No not screw in....I have removed it from the ceiling and am taking it to store. I am not about to screw around iwth it and have them claim I broke it...If they will not come to my house then they will have it there..and they WILL make an appt to come and fix my flipping tank! Plus if light is broken (which I think it is..fan not working on either bulb) they wil be giving me a new light fixture until the get the correct one in. I am done!

How did you pay for it? If you paid by credit card and they still refuse to come fix the problem, make a claim with your credit card company so you can at least get your money back. If you paid by cash, threaten to go to the BBB and log a complaint and to small claims court. They won't want the negative press, especially in hard economic times like this.

I can't stand when service "professionals" don't care after they get their money. The best way to get back at these types of professionals is to hurt them where it counts, in their cash register. They will lose a lot more money through lost referrals than just manning up and fixing the problem. I hope everything works out. MH fixtures and bulbs aren't cheap!
