I have a frog spawn, candy cane, and several mushrooms. I will be transferring them from my 65 gallon which is under power compact to my 240 gallon which is under metal hallides with PC actinic.

Due to the much more intense lighting should I place everything on the sand for a few days or so and then adjust from there? Or should I place them where I want them and limit the light time and slowly increase lighting time?

    Thanks,

    Will

    Either way should work fine.

    agreed either will work

but if it where me, I would go with the place them where you want them and decrease lighting up period to help acclimatise

my concern doing it the other way for myself would be, if the corals placed on sand bed area, like other aspects there, such as flow, and then I move them again Ill not know for sure if its the light thats the issue or flow? so I would put them where I want them 1st and adjust from there if required, once I had got them used to the light upgrade

My frogspawn broke in half when I moved it from 55 to 180. They had a couple week break-in period running only 2 VHO actinics, then with the 250w HQIs. One is on a rock about 6" from bottom, the other is on a big piece of shelf about 6" from the top. Both are fine. Just keep them out of the super heavy flow areas from your circulation loop.

Thanks bud! I think I will place the ugly frag disk in the sand so that the stem of the frog spawn is sticking out. I am going to put it at the cove on the right side of the tank seems to be low flow but that might change once I see how the coral likes it
