Well i just installed a Vortech MP40w on my 55g and the instructions says to put it on max speed when you first start it up to check if there's any vibration or noise and to see if its properly lined up. When i did that the current was so strong it knocked my bubble coral down and some of the bubbles popped! And my bubble coral is the size of baseball when its open. So my question is will my bubble coral going to heal itself from its injury or is it pretty much going to die?:(

if i were u, id turn my lights off (thats when corals shrink down and filter feed) and i would dose my tank with some coral food to help it out, i use fiji gold and i have seen awesome changes. when i actually first got my bubble tip coral, my sail fin tang knocked it off the rock i had it on and it landed face down and the whoe right side of it was blackish blueish, and i turned my ligts off dosed it and the next day it was perfectly fine...

It can recover, however, it is prone to infection now that some of the bubbles have popped. You may want to consider an iodine dip to prevent brown jelly disease which is basically a bacterial infection. As already mentioned, you can try to feed it too to help it regrow.

i accidentally sucked a good chunk of my bubble into my siphon wwhen doing a water change. a few bubbles got popped. but it didnt really seem to affect it any. opened nice and full the next day , except the damaged bubbles. i didnt do anything special to it either in regards to feeding and such , but im sure it wouldnt hurt to do. they seem to fairly hardy , so i think youre gonna be ok. best of luck dis

Yeah, they are pretty hardy corals.

Feed it, and it will probably be fine. Dipping it in iodine might stress it more, so wait to see how it is doing tomorrow.
