We got back from a 6day vacation on Dec. 28 and came home to really high CA.. We did a water change and changed out our filter media the next day.. I just finished testing everything again and the CA is at 820ppm:eek: and the test we did on the 30th was at 840ppm.. and our Ph was at 8.0.. Currently this is how everything reads..
    CA 829ppm:eek:
    PH is low at 8.0
Alk is in the normal rage which is between 1.7-2.8
    Nitrate is at 0
    Nitrite is at 0
    Ammonia is at 0
    Phosphate is at 0
    Salinity is at .025
and our water is not foggy. it is very clear.. but has been evaporating really fast..
And that is all the tests we have.. We are running a aqua c remora protein skimmer.. Canister filtration.. Two little fishies phosban reactor.. And our water we use is profetionally filtered sea water which we just started using because we were having a problems with the RO across the street and cant affored to buy our own.. before we started using the filtered sea water we were using the ro with ocean pure salt...Also we have only done one water change with the new water... Our tank is 26gal with 24lbs of live rock... How can we lower the CA?? I read one other post and the only other answer I found was to to water changes every day.. All our fish and soft corals seem to be doing fine.. but I dont want anything to die... Any advise would help me.. Thanks you guys!!
I think I gave you all the info you need...

What's your Magnesium at? And I'm assuming you mean salinity SG is 1.025?

I think i agree with you on this... I dont have a tester for MG.. its on the list of stuff to buy..lol.. We got our CA test from my inlaws for Christmas and its a cheaper one so we were questioning it from the beginging.. The brand is Aqua test..We dont know what a really high CA tank would look like.. so we werent sure if it was off.. That would make since if it looked like snow..lol.. I will take a sample of the water to the LFS and see what they say.. Thanks for the advise.. If the CA is truly that high how would I lower it??

You can dillute the Ca levels through water changes like you stated above, however first go get yourself an API, Salifert, RedSea, or other well recognized Saltwater Calcuim test kit to verify if your levels are truly that high. If they are lower and in-range, it's more a matter of having your Alk, Ca and Mag balanced correctly.

You have some other parameter out of balance because Ca doesn't go up while you are gone unless your test kits are bad or someone is sneaking in the house dosing thing.
