my apologies iwona. We do have people post on here sometimes that are just messing around. Don't worry about your grammar. We're not the grammar police (just the tang police :)). I'm sorry for your loss especially since you had your fish for so long.

It doesnt matter any more :(
all was for nothing .... i KILLED that fish , becouse I was trying improve my tank.... was working on nitrates ...20 is to high for reef ( got my self mini carnister filter (80 g/hour only for this case) working as reactor with denitrate and phosban media and I was performing regular water changes only , noting rapid ..... i did not see any drop in alkalinity ...
I want it go mini reef finally after those years .... want it add corals ...
for all those years I was adding : trace minerals , buffer , ammonia lock , calcium and stress zyme for extra bacteria , I wasnt dosing strontium & molybdenum and iodide , so I started about 2 weeks ago .... I saw that skimmer was taking out more then usual for past 2 days , I should perform rapid water change THEN !!!! and I should read more about iodide , why they selling this stuff any way ????????????????????
I killed my maroon :( and there is nothing more I can do ..... I will think about keeping my tank ..... I was ready to take it down yesterday , but I have craps and snails and they doing great so far .... well I dont know .... I didnt look on them today :(((( any way .... thats my story ..... its not funny my maroon was part of my family ..... BEST PET EVER ..... he would eat from hand :)

Sometimes fish just die, nothing related to what you did. Not every fish will live for their maximum life time that's shown on websites. If it were a year or two or three and died then I'd be worried.

    Couple things:
    1) Calm down. Nothing good in this hobby happens fast or under panic.
    2) Don't dose something that you're not testing for.
    3) These things happen. If you don't think you can handle losing a pet, you may not want to purchase additional pets.
    4) You sound passionate, but perhaps you should post up things you're thinking of before you do it.

You certainly sound very passionate about this hobby, and clearly the maroon was more than just a fish to you, so I truly am sorry for your loss. It is nice to see someone as passionate as you in this hobby. The hobby could use more for sure.

Anyways, the items I put in bold are things you should never have to dose in an established, FOWLR tank as long as regular water changes are done. Most agree that 20% monthly is acceptable (with 10% bi-weekly being even better). Hopefully you can learn more about this hobby through this forum and continue to have a successful tank in the future!

Sorry to bother i will not post again i was crying for help , but that did not help .... Hoping to find someone living close to me ... none of my friends have a saltwater tank ... yes i loved that fish, it may sound stupid but i did . ..... I wont dose iodide any more to my tank if i decide to keep it of course ....... I was panicing couse my fish never had been sick before . never ever had any kind of spots during his life no problems at all with his health .... maybe thats why i had huge panic reaction ... and i was right i did not safe him .... just dont like when animals die in pain .... And i think that posioning of any kind must be painfull .... once again i am so sorry and have happy reefing ....... Iwona.......
