    The great thing about struggles is that they make us stronger,you are gaining experience and one day you will be helping someone else out.Keep your head up and learn,you feel bad because you care and and thats a great quality in an aquarist,all the old timers here are really good peeps and love their fish and corals. Lets move forward..;)

    There's the source of your problem. I don't believe it to be your dosing.

    What is your water source? If RO/DI, did you just make it to make the saltwater or did you already have RO/DI made up? Did you have stored saltwater, bubbled and ready to go, or did you make it up for a water change that day? If that day, how long between when it was made and when you used it. When was your last water change before this one?

    A nitrate of 20 will never kill your fish.

    It's very sad loosing an old fish. Sorry to hear it.
