I am needing to set up my aquarium. I was told not to use tap water, but my local pet store sells some water treatment, can I use tap water and use this? Please help me out

I bought it from a co worker. She said it is 26-30 gallons. She had bought it from a friend and was unsure

Your local fish store probably also sells SW right? Or you can buy bottled water RO from Walmart and such.

Yes you can use tap and water conditioner but if your water is high in phosphates you could end up with a nightmare of an algae bloom.

I have salt, and everything I need in that aspect. Just needing to add the water and the live sand. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't hurt my tank when doing this. Thank you. I will look into the walmart idea.

It's better to start things off correctly them spend months trying to get excessive nutrients back out.

yes, start off with filtered water - RO/DI is ideal but as Corailline said you can use RO from the store or buy distilled water in the jugs. It will save you so much headache in the long run.
