I need help making a decision. I am in between which one I should get. I have a 55 gal tank w/65 lbs of live rock. I am new to this and set up the tank 2 months ago. I don't know what type of corals I will want in the future. Is the Outer Orbit worth $300 more. The only thing I don't like is that the extreme pro does not have moon or night lighting. Any opinions would help!

I've never heard of the Outer Orbit. However, the Nova Extreme Pro is well tested and proven to be a fantastic light. You can keep any coral you want under one if it is a big enough fixture for the setup and even clams. Tally up a vote for the Nova Extreme Pro.

I would personally go with the outer orbit..that is what I have on my tank and love it. But wanted to make sure I am not missing something....isnt nova extreme pro T5HO? Outer Orbit is MH. So you would have to decide if you want to go the MH route...which would mean a chiller...but EVERY coral can be grown under outer orbit

My tank is 6feet long, so I have 2 36" Outer Orbits 250 W over my tank...I wanted to have 4 MH versus just the 3 that came with the 72inch model

I have the Nova Extreme and so far luv it ....but I dont have corals yet. I bought the dual R2 moon lights for 50.00 and installed them myself. was a snap..and i've heard the installed ones from Current are not all that great anyway. Don't let the Moon light sway your decision...it's more for looks then anything.

    good luck

Thanks everyone. I picked up yhe extreme pro today. Mostly for the fact that I couldn't justify the extra 300 plus most likely a chiller.

How much was it? You got the 4 x 54 watt T5 then, right?
