I would look at SWC Skimmers. Same pump as much more expensive skimmer.... much easier on the pocket book.

I haven't had one, but if I were buying one today, that's what I'd go with.

What do you plan on putting in the tank? like how many pounds of LR?

And what type of fish, how many fish, i your not maxing the tanks capacity out like crazy with lionfish, abunch of tangs, etc...Pretty much all those dirty, messy fish..Your not going to need a skimmer, depending on if you have alot of LR, but if you barely any LR...then i would recommend a skimmer.

A skimmer for a 220g would be a Coralife protein skimmer, here is a link
Aquarium Protein Skimmers: Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer

they do a good job once you get it tuned in correctly.

Look into ASM skimmers. An ASM G3 would prob. do well with a med. bioload.

9 x 10" is the full footprint you have to work with including for output piping from the skimmer etc... ? If so are you opposed to going with an external skimmer? I think you will have a hard time finding something appropriately sized that will fit.

Look at Eshopps, another excellent budget easy skimmer.
