    if it were my tank i would buy a gfo reactor for 90 bucks and beef up the clean up crew..or listen to what all the other knowledgable poeple have advised..

    they were in another 30 gallon before this one. It had algae problems as well but no nowhere near this bad. This is why I am confused and came to you guys. The problem with getting a larger CUC is that the puffers have a habit of eating them. I give the snails and hermits plenty of tiny spaces to get into but eventually they all end up as food.

    When I go to the LFS this week I will pick up some cheato and chempure and wait a week or so and see what happens. If it continues to get worse I will probably look to re-home one of them :-/

    You should see what the phosphate level is at when you go to the LFS. And it takes longer to see the results than one week, probably more like 3 at the least IMO. A urchin may mow through the algae, but you need to be able to feed it after the algae is gone.
