Hi guys, so i dont normally keep sps but i upgraded my pico to a Nanocustoms par38 led bulb, and today went to get a few sps to see how well it can grow sps. Anyway long story short i got two great frags and when i was going down the stairs with the bags one slipped from my hand and fell to the floor. The tip of the green slimer broke off :/ now i dont exactly know what to do... Is the frag dead? I know growth occurs through the white tips so i was wondering if the frag is a complete loss? i put both the tip that broke off and the frag in the tank, along with the other frag i got. Now how exactly can i approach the situation? glue the tip to a rock/plug ? I honestly am not sure :/ and i feel awful about it, so bummed.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Basically when a piece of SPS gets broken, its basically the same way as fragging it. You can just glue it on a piece of rock and let it grow back. The coral will be fine.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yes just stick some super glue gel on it and stick to a plug or rubble. Just keep the pieces in the tank until you can glue them. Try not to get too much glue on the body of the frag.

Let's put it this way: When I frag SPS, I usually just grab and break off a piece.

i'm dying to :( but i have a simple point and shoot which normally takes amazing pictures but when the par bulb is on the pics come out REALLY blue almost actinic looking and the white balance options are craptacular :( so nothing really comes out looking like it does to me. Hopefully i can fix the problem tho becuase i'd love to get a coral id on the second sps frag, its GORGEOUS.

Your coral will be fine so long as not too much glue gets on the body of the piece. Need pics hehe congrats on the adds also!

Congrats on the upgrade and new adds. I have noticed most of the LED pics fight the blue problem. Good luck figuring it out.
