    what about the salinity question? are you treating with anything else?

    so you are doing hyposalinity to treat ich? just trying to make sure this isnt a brackish tank or that you think your salinity should be at that for a marine tank.

    I thought they had ick, I was trying to treat with my QT with hypo when things went south after, in a hind sight, over feeding. I came home to 3 dead and 2 struggling. I then set up another tank with water from my display and half new water. Now I'm trying to figure out what the 2 have and what to do now. Thanks for all your help so far.

    ok i would raise the salinity back up to normal levels slowly, and treat with copper and antibiotics, since you have the ability to do that in a qt.

    antibiotics should hopefully help the dropsy. i would be quick on this treatment as its supposed to be impossible to treat unless you catch it very early. tetracycline is a popular one for this.

    were are raising the salinity because you cannot treat with medication while in hyposalinity.

    btw it looks like lowering salinity is the worst possible thing you can do for dropsy, as it encourages the fish to hold onto water instead of expel it.
