I recently upgraded my system from a 12 gallon nano to a 55 rectangle i placed 85 pounds of already cured LR in the 55 gallon. I have about 15 pounds of LR in the nano some really cool looking pieces.

My question is can i just move the LR from the nano over to the new system? I had a really bad HA infestation in the Nano that I want to avoid in the new tank.

Should I just nuke the nano rock then add? Or just buy some more at the store?

And what s the best way to add rock to an already running system?

    Thanks.

You can usually put and move rock in at any time, no such thing as to much LR. BUT moving that rock scares me, how long has the problem been cleared up, or has it been cleared?. more info please, and maybe a close up of the rock....thanks

no pic yet sorry but the 12 gallon is still set up and i have released a Sea Hare to take care of the Hair Algae. He is doing a great Job but I am worried that once get rid of it and trade the sea hare in and put the rock in the big tank I will have an outbreak again.

Would I be better off just buying dry figi for like 2 bucks a pound and just put in my big tank and let it become live on its own?

This sounds like a good idea.....
You can also nuke the stuff you have now a few different ways. Algae spores can hide and lay dormant 'til the right conditions present themselves.
