Frank, I surf, but not much lately, anyways,

I started my first SW tank when I live a 1/2 mile south of the Boynton Inlet- in Boynton Beach FL. Just north of you on the East coast.

I caught all the livestock with slurp guns (sucks water/fish into a tube).
I used all NSW- Natural sea water.
I collected it myself suring the incoming tide, in the actual inlet of Boynton Beach.
I stood on the cement edge, and dropped a 5g bucket with a rope into the crystal clear water, and put it in a large cooler in my truck, and did water changes that way.

Worked great! I moved and gave the system away.- was a 30g.
*Don't use an outgoing tide, nasty stuff leaving the inlet!

I think you have good advice.
