i have a 3 gallon nano reef with various corals but one i need help with is the green poylp because it was full and growing at a crazy rate and covered a 6 inch rock completely. Then i started to notice the top getting thinned out. The colony still continues grow tho. I then noticed these little bugs covering the top when i turned the light on. What will help me rid my nano of these bugs? thanks a ton.

ive found when my polyps grow, they get a bit thin in parts when expanding. more in the middle. might not be anything nibbling on then. and i dont think copepods would. but i could be mistaken , wouldnt be the 1st time. lol

I have been doing some research and have found they are amphipods. Im pretty sure they are eating my polyps. Mind you its only a 3 gallon with some 50 or more amphipods. I believe they may be running out of food and turned to my polyps.

most likely you are talking about Amphipods which dont eat coral. Perhaps you have a hitchhiker crab in there that is eating the polyps.

Post some pics so we can help you better.

There are some isopods that are parasitic and have been known to eat coral. Post of picture of your pods if you can.
