Would it be ok to qt both of them in a 10gal? The powder blue is 3.5" and blue is 2.5". Or should i put them both straight into display? My display only has 3 fish (leopard Wrasse and 2 Firefish).

you shouldnt but them together in the QT or display. 2 tangs in one tank requires a LARGE aquarium. powder blues and really prone to ick.

My personal experience has left me convinced that tangs are very susceptible to ick. This is only my own experience so someone else may refute that. However, if it were me there would be no way I would skip the QT.

iv seen tangs living together fine. I heard its better to put them in togther to minimize aggression. My tank is 100gal should be ok for a while with these 2. My problem is my qt is only 10 gal. So im faced with a scenario. Qt 2 tangs in 10gal and then add them to main togther or Qt Powder, add the blue straight to main and add powder when qt finished. Or dont qt any of them and add both straight to tank. Whats best here? The fish are acclimating right now. So i gotta make a decision.

As long as they appeared healthy at the store, just add them both. If one starts to not do that great, you can always move it to the QT then.

I have a large blue hippo tang a medium bowder brown tang, and 2 large yellow tangs. All of them were indruduced into the tank at different times and all but one have had ick. They chose there territory the first few days but soon enough the all school together now. The only tang that gave me huge grief was a naso it killed 2 yellows then died. All my tangs now do great though. I do have over 200 gallons so they have plenty of room though.

At this point I would add them both.. 10g is too small.. they shud be fine together in the 100g.. PB is prone to Ich and it's too bad the quarantine wasn't thought of and set up ahead of time! I have a 55g long tank (48") that I have for when I get my tang and copperband.. I was lucky to have a bunch of them fall on my lap tho! Good luck and keep us posted..

2 big fish in one little tank is not a good idea. but it is also not a great idea to introduce ick to your tank if you are shure you don't have it. If it was my lfs I would see if they would hold the fish till one could acclamate. Other wise maybe put up another qt tank. If you haven't bought fish already then only buy one at a time. Just some ideas. good luck

Ick is in every tank it only when stress is present that it rears its ugly head. I had the hippo have it two times and nothing else had it at the same time. I have a hospital tank so I can work with it if I need it but I havent needed it yet. When the hippo got it which hippos and pb tangs are prone, I just turned the temp to 82 and fed them some garlic/veggie food and 2 days later snap it was a-ok. My naso was the most difficult tang but the blue tangs are the hardest when it comes to ick. Good luck
