I just purchased the skimmer and it's going nuts. I followed the piss poor instructions but have no clue where to set the collector tank and it's filling up with water (dumped twice in one hour). Does anyone have one I can see pictures of or provide information? I'm scared to leave it on overnight.
    Thanks.

it's calmed down a bit and the bubbles are about half an inch from the opening on the collector box. Do you have your box half way? that seems to be the best place but again the bubbles are not quite at the top.

    Thanks.

yes about half way up Muskrat

if the skimmate collected was a very light colour, I would raise it again
so that the foam is dryer and thus the amount of collected waste to water ratio was higher

not much difference between wet and dry skimming (just the amount of water to waste ratio)
but with a dryer skimmate I can empty the cup weekly rather than every 3 days if I wet skimmed

Thanks Steve. I'll leave it half way. I hope I don't wake up tomorrow to a flooded room.

How long does it take for the skimmer to start extracting the slime? I've been setup for two days and barely see any. I've read varying reports but wanted to check.
Also, is dry or wet skimming better?
    Thanks.

there is no hard and fast rules
Clarky got a BH2000F at the same time as me
his produced tea colored skimmate within 24 hours
mine took 3 days to produce anything other than what looked like saltwater ( mine collected clear liquid for 3 days)

    dry or wet

I believe that the only difference is the amount of water you get in relation to waste

I believe that the amount of protiens removed would be similar in either scenario

    what I can say is
Wet skimming means a higher liquid ratio and thus cup and neck are easy to wipe clean
dry skimming , takes a bit more effort to clean as the collected waste cakes onto the surfaces that dry out
Wet skimming may mean emptying the cup more often than dry skimming due to the increased water to waste ratio
