Help sea hare leaking purple stuff!!!

ok guys my sea hare is leaking purple stuff out of his back whats going on

 

The last time I had sea hare was 5 years ago. I can't remember the exact but I recall that as their excrement. The color might change depends on what they have digested. Sometimes, they are red.

 

it doesnt look like the poop ive seen them make at the lfs this was more of a liquid stuff like purple food color or something

 

have to be extremely careful with those if they are dying. If you think he might be sick or dying put some of your tank water in a bag along with a air stone and let him float in the bag for a bit, if it's awhile then change the water every few hours. I had one die in the tank, not good!

 

The purple stuff is a dye same as an octopus would put out if in danger, run some carbon and cross your fingers. I am not sure of it's toxic ability.

 

ive had 2 green ones die in the tank before and no ill effects this one is more brown and black .... thanks for the help i never knew they inked.... but it was only a tiny bit everything is doing ok so far

 

I bet he is just getting used yo your tank, he probably had an accident from all the excitement!

 

lol he is very energetic... no ill effects from this stuff ... i almost had a heart attack with that one haha
