HELP! SERPENT STARFISH DISINTERGRATED!! woke up one morning and notice the limbs of my starfish being chewed on my my gobie. didnt know what happened. all parameters seem fine. later on, all of the serpent starfishes were dismantled, missing limbs! 6 all together. heres the kicker. everything else in tank is doing fine. no problems with fish, crabs, snails or shrimp. has this happened to anyone out there?? if so, what was the cause and what did you do? please help.

I had the very same thing happen to mine. Mine started at the tips one day and every day after that a little more would break of till about a week later he had no limbs left. The next day it was dead. None of my other critters were anywhere near it so it is still a mystery to me. Was told by Lfs that they were algae eaters, but even if I tried to target feed it would just crawl away from the food. Maybe you will have better luck then I did at finding the cause.

I had a chocolate chip star die from a fungal disease. The two serpent stars I currently have only lose part of their arms when the big (2") hermit catches them in the open.
