Yesterday i got some new soft corals and last night i put them in the tank. I installed a Koralia 1 yesterday too. they looked good for a couple hours then went downhill. Today i got home from work and i was hoping the light would come on and they would expand and look sweet. Not the case they look worse> I dont know what to do>>.
Here are some pics of the corals yesterday, compared to today???

My xenia did the same thing for like 4 days. They should get used to the increased flow. Frm what I've read Kenya Trees also do that. The flowerpot.. not sure. What size tank do you have and what other flow?

    Hi Crusty

I know you recently purchased test kits? have you done any testing yet
if so what results have you got

Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, PH, Calc, ALK, Magnesium, Phosphate,
take some water to the LFS also - get them to run some tests (including copper, as you inherited this tank set up, so its best to be sure there is no copper in there)

it may be normal, but it may also be a water quality issue ?

I have added some of those species into my tank over recent months and cant recall a single instance of any of them failing to open as well as they where in the LFS on the day of purchase or at least the day after

    how did you acclimatise them?

The green flower pot coral Im not the best at ID but it looks like a Gonipora species
if so IMO not a good choice ( I have 6 years experience with corals, but those things or in fact any close relatives of them or anything that reminds me of them are not on my shopping list, in general they dont do well , 6 months or less from now, you will just have a novel looking rock, where that flower pot used to be)

the Kenya tree was a good choice - they do well in most tanks

The Xenia - you pay your money and you take your chances - they do fantastic in some tanks and yet in others dont do so well - not a hard to keep coral, but some people would not agree with that statement.

My corals went bad like that after my Bubble Coral went toxic on another coral resulting from bad placement. Could that be thge problem there? Have you recently moved anything or added anything and maybe set it to close to another coral? Or could be the water as Steve was asking in reference too.

KH - 107.4 that cant be right ( 10.7 could be?)
    what test kit you using?

I dont think interspecific aggression or toxins are your issue here
but running carbon is always a good idea and that may take the edge of any water quality issues you are having
