IMO I don't think the Koralia 1 is very strong, maybe there's something else, I was looking for your SG and still wondering if there's green hair alge in the tank and not enough oxygen, if I recall, you just lost the emerald crab and a watchman goby? I don't know, but I still think there's something else going in here with your chemistry. again, just my humble opinion.

+1 - this thread in isolation - flow could have been an issue, as could the other things mentioned

but with the death of fish and invert on seperate thread, then its either a different issue or we have more than 1 issue

Inwall75 mentioned stray voltage on this thread, and that could also account for mystery fish deaths possibly

we may be looking for a common denominator, or we may have more than 1 problem in this set up

either way Crusty - dont add anything to your tank until the problem is realised and sorted

I would take water to the LFS and get them to do a full set of checks, just in case your tests are flawed

I would remove the Korallia , in case to much flow is bothering your corals
or it is a case of STRAY VOLTAGE - causing all the problems

There's a sticky at the top of the ASAP forum so you have an idea of the info that's needed to start to get this figured out in the best way.

Remember this is a 14 gallon tank.. a koralia 1 and a hydor flow is a lot of flow than his coral was used to, and in this size tank can make xenia shrivel. It happened to me. I did not know about the deaths he recently had though. Looks like he has a ground probe so stray voltage shouldn't be a problem. How are your polyps and zoas doing? i still think it's the flow. Only time will tell.. meanwhile have someone test your water.

You said you got the tank off craigslist, was it a salt or freshwater tank before you had it? Is there any way to get a hold of the original owner and ask if he ever treated ich with copper in this tank? ?

High nitrates will do nothign to these, ive had my nitrates over 100 for a month before I found out the cause and all my still grew like a XXXXXX XXXXXX. Mine for the first day didnt come out do to the flow, I have 1 k4 and 2 k2's with 420gph return, got lots of flow in my tank. Just give them time but def get an ammonia test because you always want to know that especially if something dies you will know with the spike.

Please don't try and trick the automatic profanity censor by misspelling

What about light? I had a Colt Coral that was miserable at the bottom of a tank. Definitely play with positioning. I'm always surprised how my corals respond. I had a mushroom coral really expand because he was higher up in the tank.
