HELP Starfish is dying

    Hey

    Iv had my blue and red star fish for a while now, recently the red star fishies tips have been crumberling away?? woke up this morning and some of its outer skin has dissapeared.

    checked my water and everyting seems fine? blue starfish is fine?

    what shall i do?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Try and supplement their diets.

    Make sure SG and pH are not have swings at all.

    Besides that this is typical of trying to keep star fish, it's extremely hit and miss. If the tank is not established or has a lot area for the development of biofilm and film algae most slowly starve. If the star fish was starving before you got it then there is not much to be done.

    Totally agree with Corailline. How long has the tank been setup? What sizes are the starfish?

    Its weird because my blue star is alot bigger and doing really well, my tank has loads of live rock and sand
    have put him in netted area so fish cant pic at him, shall i put some fish flakes in there for him?
    dont want him to die hes a cool little critter :(

    dry algae would be the best option

    the red star is about 1.5inch the blue is alot bigger 4inch?
    started my tank in june last year
    tank is 94l

    Stars are hit or miss. I had one just fall apart and all my others are fine. you basically get lucky with them.
