those shrimp can have preservatives in them.

I hate to hear of your fish. I have a naso and love him great fish. and you had a pair at that. wish I could help more but short of taking a needle and deflating the bulge, I havent a clue. I know that when fishing for deep fish, you can use a needle to deflate the bladder so then can swim back down.

thanks of all the input....I will try the needle when I get home.....not sure it will work but I think that may be the last chance before he is a goner.

Not sure how to replace a large tang like that.....not many people have them that large for sale....plus I don't know if a new one would get along with the female or not.

I have pics of him on my photo album from about a year back so you can see just what I will be missing if this doesn't work......very depressing!!!

ok....just tried the needle.....it is definetly the swim bladder.....air came pooring out of it. Problem is it just fills back up and then he floats to the bottem. He is still super fat and is still fighting.

Do I try and poke one more hole???? Do I wait and do nothing???

But the tough question......how long do I wait before I say enough is enough and put him out of his misery. If there is no real chance of survival I am not going to have him suffer for days just to pine away and die.....

HELP ASAP what should I do?????

I don't know what he's been fed, but it may be a food blockage in his system. research fish laxative to see what is safe to use. I've heard epsom salt can work, but you'll have to do more research as it might just be for freshwater fish IDK. I don't really know the correct measurements of epsom salt to water, but you could give it a try.

IMO, I would not poke him with a needle again. He's already stressed enough.

On day one of the pea diet.....we will see if this works. Started him on them last night but struggled to get him to eat one. Hopefully he has ate them by the time I get back home tonight.
