How do you test for stray voltage?

It wouldnt hurt to check for stray voltage and any new fish is going to be more susceptible to any issue you might have going on with your tank.

What about what you are feeding? Anyone (children, maybe) add something to the tank that you didnt see?

You need a volt meter to do this. You take the black probe from the volt meter, and put it to something that is for sure grounded. (Hopefully the third "circular" prong of an electrical outlet.) You take the red probe, and place the tip into the tank. Turn the meter on to measure voltage, and hopefully you should get 0 or another really small number.

We feed 4 - 5 times per week & do not have any small children around.

If you get any other number other than 0. Unplug everything and start plugging back in one at a time, when the meter registers a number other than 0, you will know what is causing the stray voltage.

Ok, so it looks like we are back to either the LFS or stray voltage.

Sorry, was editing what I originally typed and forgot to take that part out.

The thing to remember is that you need to test against something that you know is grounded. Like I said, the third prong should be grounded, but in some older houses, the wiring wasn't upgraded, and newer outlets were put in, that aren't truly grounded.

As was the case with my house. Didn't know it at first since our surge protector was malfunctioning right out of the box and the warning light never came on.

That was a great $600 electrician adventure....
