So i plan to build a sump for my 55g since i cant seem to find a decent used one.. I cant fit it under my tank so im going to build a matching cabnit next to the tank that will house my sump. My question is does anyone have a decent site i can get the basics off of on what i need and how it should be set up?? i did a little browsing but really couldnt find to much what im wanting.. maybe a diagram?? I found a few but they all seem so different. Guess I just need to know the basics of what i will need set up. Sorry for sounding like such a NEWB question but when it comes to sumps I am a newb. So any info would be great. I do know i will prob. mount my protein skimmer on the side of my sump. I wanna try to keep it compact as possible due to it not going under my tank. Thanks in advance for the help!

Are you going to mod a tank or are you wanting to bulid one from scratch? I made one out of acrylic for my 55 because I couldn't find anything to fit my stand. There some good videos on youtube explaining how to weld acrylic if thats the route you are wanting to go.

Thanks Dusty. Im not sure which route i want to go.. I would almost rather pay for a used one or find one for sale due to my lack of knowledge on sumps. Buying a used one and being explained to how it works would prob. be my best bet but really having a hard time finding one. So i may have to do a build.
