    Settling down!

Well here is the update...By the way thanks for all the comments!
We went to the LFS and got some more crabs and snails...I forgot what they are called but they snails have this single antenna thing sticking up and a kind long body that drags behind them. They mostly hide in the sand but are keeping us entertained when we feed they all pop up out of the sand! We had a bunch of people over playing Rockband and I made them all stop and come watch when I fed...Very Entertaining especially after all the drinks we have consumed! The algea on the glass seems to not be as much of a problem and I haven't really seen much growth on the rocks. I took a few larger rocks out that had this algea on it and things seem to be good! I have greatly reduced my feedings. We were feeding 1-2 times a day and now only every other day or so. I think it is helping because before when I fed no one really noticed but now when I feed everyone wants some. Starfish comes out of hiding etc! We also got a milky substance that has buffer and calcium. We have really reduced the amount of time the halides are on. So we will see how things go. As far as our filter I don't really know what kind it is...I know it has 3 different parts...a sponge then carbon I think and then some white things that are supposed to help with Ammonia reduction. We do not have a skimmer on the tank we were told we shouldn't need one for a 30 gallon. How about UV sterilization anyone have comments I have heard great things about it for reducing algea.
