Depends on how powerful the pump you plan on using is. No real maintenance on the u-tube style. All you have to do is every few months is clean the u-tube w/ vinegar.

I have a Pf-800 on my 90 gallon with a magdrive 9.5 return pump. I have to turn the return pump waaaay down, because the overflow cannot keep up with it. I don't know what I'm getting at here, lol, but I think what I'm trying to say is that whichever overflow you get depends on the power of your return pump.

i would think with just the responds here on this thread, that the cpr system has many problems the biggest is that they do lose siphon often for most all that have ran them. for me i want a true tried system, if it didn't have a u tube i would throw it in the trash.

and like i said i have one that i have ran for more then 20 years that is still in use in my system this very day and has never lost it's siphon not one time . in fact i have 3 i am using right now on my system 2 were purchased and 1 i made and they all run flawlessly .

Sounds like I'll be getting a u-tube overflow in the future, but I can honestly say I've yet to have an issue with my CPR 90, knock on wood.
