I have lost my starry blenny :( but he is nowhere to be found in the tank? Advice on what to do....should I tear down the rock and look for him or assume that critters will take care of him? I'm sure it's not healthy for the tank for him to be decomposing in there (he was a decent sized fish)....

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
In a established tank with a cuc the a dead fish will barely make a blip on the water quality radar. If this were a big fish in a small tank that might be concerning.

Sorry for the loss, but I personally would not go looking for the remains.

ok, thanks Corailline! I really didn't want to tear down to find him....I've looked through every nook and crannie and did not see any evidence of him....

I guess my instincts were right in that something was wrong.....I swear it had to do with kalk pasting my rock to get rid of majano. I think he may have eaten some - it correlated in time to when I noticed a marked change in his behavior.....I was really hoping he'd pull through :(

There's a chance a worm scarfed it down. It's happened in my tank.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine. It was his blue spotted jawfish that met his demise. He saw the fish eat it. Lasted for a bit, then disappeared.

Exactly. IMOPE, the #1 reason you can't find it is because it's already gone by the time you even notice.

Sorry to hear that. A lot of times they do just disappear and quickly.
