    Exactly my point.

    Besides i think that if you truely love someone you want them to do/have what makes them happy so long as it's not immoral or illegal and you can afford it of couse...of course in real life there are compromises so all the members of a family (or a couple) can do/have some of their wants met.

    not as much of a difference as you think. I come from a golfing family... My dad puts in just a much money if not more to his golfing then I do to my tank (just happy to see my mom finally get into it). Both are a way of life...My mom always put up with my dads golfing and he put up with her stamping,quilting, beading,etc. The point as stated before it about tolerance and respect for one another's interests/hobbies. Like Skyfire said you can use this as a measuring stick of things to come in your relationship.

    Now I live by a very important rule when it comes to relationships: "Its easier to ask for forgiveness, then to ask for permission" I would do it, and then if there is some angry offer a trade up....
