help wit anemone

how can you tell if an anemone is dead?

 

It starts turning to goo... and letting out stringy stuff.. try picking it up and smelling it if it stinks its probably going bye bye sorry... hope it gets better. oh also it just starts to close up and kinda just looks pathetic...

 

its lettin off stringy stuff and when you touch it,it lets off a powdery substance and the middle is pokin out

 

Without knowing the type you have, color and smell are probably your best test. Be careful though, sometimes anemones will close up for a bit to eat, then open again. If it isn't attached to anything you could gently lift it to the surface and sniff. If you don't smell rotting flesh, put it back and leave it alone.

 

well that one was dead but i have a pink tip anemone comin

 

...don't you think it would be a good idea to find out why the first one died, and fix the problem, before buying another?

 

first off its goin in my ten gallon instead of the 55 gallon as i have sold it

 

Just because it's a different tank doesn't mean the issue won't apply.
