    Hey Guys,

I have a maroon clown that is looking a little weird. It is the female of my mated pair. She is about 3.5 inches long by about an 1.5 inches tall. About one week ago, maybe two, her and the moved to the back of the tank they are usually in the front center area. Today, I noticed that in front of her gills her entire head has gotten a slight white glaze over it, and her eyes are normally a reddish orange but, now appear completely blood red (very bright). Other than that everything seems fine. She is eating normally and still being the typical maroon clown b!@#$ she normally is. One other note is the male is staying in the back of the tank not even trying to go for food anymore. They seems to have created and new nesting area behind one of the back rocks and I can't see into it. I am hoping this means they might have laid some eggs, but the white haze is giving me second thought. It doesn't look like Clown fish Disease, as it is nt all over the body and isn't concentrated onto 2-3 scales at a time. it is covering the whole head. She also has some slight fin rot on her dorsal fins.

I have completed two water test, one myself one by the LFS. both tests read nothing out of the ordinary except my Calcium levels need to drop a little. I have done two 10-15 gallon water changes on a 50g tank.

Any thoughts or help will be greatly appreciated.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It does sound like spawning behaviors.

I wonder if she has injured her self while cleaning ( although the male does the majority of that).

If you can get an image of her, maybe when you introduce food to the tank that might help.

With nothing else to go on, perhaps look into some Melafix. If she is eating, also try some garlic or Silcon.

    Hope it turns out ok.

The slime is normal for maroons. Mine would get completely covered from time to time. Not sure why but it didn't seem to happen when I had an anemone in the tank. As long as she is eating she will be fine.8)
