So I have about 15 of these things in my 29 gallon, and I want them gone. I have heard many different ideas on getting rid of them, and I opted intitially to go for a pair of peppermint shrimp sine A) I wanted to added them anyway, and B) it seemed the path of least resistance. The problem is that I have had the shrimp in for a couple of days now, and they have not even discovered the garden of aiptasia (the aipstasia is only on one rock and has not spread). So I am worried that they mey just not care to eat it, as I have heard this can happen.

So the other method that I am thinking of trying is injecting each one with a shot of pure freshwater. I have two questions about this:

    1. Will it work?

    2. How am I supposed to poperly inject them without them pulling back into the rock?

I have read in other threads or posts that they use lemon juice and have good success rate.. And when you go to inject them stabb fast so they dont have time to react ..IF they do they are already poked then inject till bulging.

If all else fails remove rock and Scrubb...

get some joe's juice or aiptasia x and zap the bastards! You don't need to stab them just squirt the stuff in their centers, the aiptasia eats it and within a few minutes they explode! Some people have success with peppermint shrimp but they don't rely on aiptasia solely so they may never even go near them.

Will the chemicals hurt nearby corals? And I mean REALLY nearby. Like in one instance, the aiptasia is growing directly under the base of a yellow polyp.

I've never had a problem - i've even gotten the juice into some polyps and they came right back within a few minutes. I will still try and not get it in there of course but you should be fine IMO

Get a small army of peppermint shrimp-5 or so. They will eat it right up, just make sure they are true peppermints and not the others that look like them. Forget the chemicals, you don't them.

Joe's Juice. I've used it many times and swear by it. Like fazool I got it on other corals before by accident and they were ok. You won't regret using it. Reefers honor!

hehe it was a real pleasure watching my peppermints destroy the aptys in a few hours. It did take them about a week to adjust to their home but after that the aptys were gone except for the few I have in the sump.

Thanks guys. I just ordered some Joe's from eBay for $9, free shipping. So if my shrimp don't get them before too long, i will just dose them....and laugh with evil pleasure:devil2:
