    Sun light is not a problem. It is the best source of light for corals! However, if you have high nutrients, plus a lot of light, that can lead to an algae problem. How much, and what, do you feed? Although I agree that looks like diatoms. Did you add any new rock, sand or equipment recently?

    +1 on the above posts...that is definitely Diatoms. I just re-started my 150, and I expected Diatoms, especially since I re-silicone one of the corners (Silicates). As expected, the whole tank turned brown, even with 0 tds RO/DI water. This is normal. I added Phosphate/ Silicate remover to one of my reactors, and the brown was gone within 2 weeks. You need to add some phosguard, and keep the sunlight off of it. BTW Phosguard is aluminum oxide. Only leave it in there 3 days or so. After absorbing the Phosphates and Silica, it will leach it back out.
