Been running my skimmer now for nearly 6 weeks, No real foam being produced. Contacted customer support , told me to change my water source. Was using my tap water after running through water softner , change nearly 50 % with R\o water from LFS, still no improvement. Any suggestions would help, my Sea clone produced better skim than this using same water.

Mine didn't produce any skimate for the first three days. It is really important that the skimmer is level and setup correctly. I ran it in my bathroom with some water change water for awhile just to make sure it worked. It finally did.

    They are VERY touchy, IME.

With the skimmer running pull the cup out and see how far down the bubble are....if they are real low have you cleaned out the air intake?
If you know that is clear then just lower the cup by moving the o-ring up until the bottom portion of the cup (the square plate on the end of the uptake tube) just sits into the bubbles maybe and 1" or 1 1/2"
If oyu have the sponge on the intake of the pump make sure that stays clean or it reduces your intake flow.

It is producing massive bubbles flowing into collection cup, so much i had to route drainage tube back into main tank. Customer support said this wet skim due to something in water. I have changed nearly 50 % with no improvement.

IME this could go on for 2 or 3 days and then it will stop, but whatever it is in the water if you just drain it back into the main tank, it will continue to behave in this manner

for 3 days when I recently re set up my skimmer, I was pouring down the drain an average of 3 or 4 cup fulls a day of what looked like clear salt water

then it stopped , and I got pea green skimmate there after

If you used any two part epoxy in the tank, you won't be able to skim for a while.

If your producing a lot of bubbles, then it might just be that the collection cup is set to low. try and move the o-ring up on the cup and see what happens.

a lot of addiditves make skimmers go kinda strange. selcone would make mine stop making skim for about an hour or so after addiing.

if you dont have a sump make sure you are keeping up with top off. if the water level in the DT changes so will the "tune" on the skimmer.

If i were you i would put the o-ring alll the way down the collection cup, (meaning the entire cup will sick out the skimmer body) if its still filling with water then look at something else. Hopefully nothing not even skim will form in cup. move the oring "up" the cup (positioning the cup down insie the body a little more) maybe a 1/4 in every day and see is stuff starts collecting in the cup.

i had a standard remora on a heavy stocked 55 and never really got the super dark skimmate, but would dump a decent green cup out every 3 days or so.

And stop putting the skimmed water back in the tank... it is trying to get it out, the best way it can, and after a week (how long it took me) it started to produce a nice skim... The best skimmer I owned... You have received! some great advice here... good luck
