I for a while i have been wanting to build a cabinet roughly 2.75' by 2.75' by 5' tall. In it i want to place my RO reserve for an ATO, power station (controller and power strips nothing fancy), my frag tank I am starting with the LED contest lights and a 10g, and then a place for all my additives and acclimating stuff.
The problem is see all your guys woodworking designs. I was planing on a 2x4 frame with a couple of shelves and going really basic about it, but I want to know your opinions. Should I notch all my wood and not only use screws use glue as well? Should I avoid metal braces? Unlike a stand for a full tank, all I'll have is a 10 gallon hooked into my current system and a bucket with RO (and maybe calc) so it doesn't neeed to be really load bearing.

for your shelving , what are you gonna use? 3\4 plywood? and i always glue it and screw it. adds that extra degree of strength. notching your 2x4 as a dado joint will give it a nice clean look. and be strong also.
